Finding aid for The George J. Luibel, D.O. Collection
Dr. Luibel was one of the founders of the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and also served as Chairman of the TCOM Board of Directors. He served as president of the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Osteopathy, and the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association. George Luibel was chief of staff at the Fort Worth Osteopathic Medical Center and president of the board. He received many awards such as the TCOM Founders' Medal in 1978, the National Osteopathic Foundation Educator of the Year in 1988, and the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association Distinguished Service Award in 1996.
