A competent, well-trained public health workforce is central to a public health agency’s ability to respond to a public health emergency. A first step in developing a training curriculum is to assess training needs. This study sought to find correlations between perceived competence in the nine public health preparedness core competency and demographic information by performing an analysis on secondary data. This study found hours training, gender, education level to be most positively associated with a higher confidence level.
