dc.description.abstractA great-granddaughter of Andrew Taylor Still, Mrs. Surface is the daughter of Henry Rutherford Cowgill, D.O., who graduated in 1905 from the American School of Osteopathy in Kirksville. His mother, Mrs. Surface’s grandmother, was Marusha Still Cowgill (1849-1924), the eldest and only surviving child of A.T. Still’s first marriage to Mary M. Vaughn. Interviewed by C.
